CARO is more than just a 4-star hotel. It’s a community for those who choose to make their office here. An urban resort for Bucharest residents and tourists alike.

A place where the blue of the lake, the green of the garden, and the red of the bricks create a lively and vibrant backdrop. It is also the story of a family business, nurtured with passion, over time.

The architectural style of the building dates back to the interwar period, and the original facade of the hotel was built in 1930. During the communist era, the land was home to a Glucose Factory, which also gave its name to the nearby street. We chose to preserve the industrial footprint in the design, in surprising details, and even in the names of the relaxation spaces. Because we believe that memory should be preserved and reintegrated into the life of the city. The red brick, metallic accents, refurbished machinery, warm colors, and vibrant textures, all bear witness to the various stages in the exciting life of this place.

We have created a unique domain, waiting to be explored until it becomes part of the story of each guest. Situated amidst nature, surrounded by a park with direct access to Lake Tei, and at the same time, located in the main business area of Bucharest, CARO combines local history with an innovative attitude. Here, urban legend blends perfectly with contemporary design.

Five hectares of relaxing activities, where the mind and body can reconnect. The Glucose Factory has since become a factory of greenery – a tireless producer of fresh air, hosting countless activities.

Take a stroll through the CARO estate, and you’ll feel the infusion of energy! Start with the Glucose Terrace, savor a delicious cocktail, then continue your journey to the meadow by the lake. You’ve arrived at the Dumbrava Minunată (The Wonderful Grove), where you can meditate against the backdrop of birdsong while relaxing in one of the wrought iron gazebos.
 

Then, wander through the green meadows and discover the hidden machinery, traces through which you can easily reconstruct the industrial past of the estate.

Open a book, savor a smoothie at “La Hamace,” then head to “La Vitrine” and find the secret passage that leads you to “La Catarge”: the terrace where you can capture an unfiltered Bucharest sunset in all its splendor.
