Enjoy the wildlife around you and see Bucharest in a new way

Raw nature in Vacărești Bucharest - also known as "the Delta of Bucharest", birds on the rooftops and even on the fences from the old neighbourhoods, not to mention in the trees surrounding our Glucoza Bar Terrace - a nice oasis in the city - are all great places to start off an exciting and satisfying journey into urban birding, why noy, during your next city break.

Many families of birds have perfectly adapted to the urban landscape and now can be easily found near people. Bucharest has over 175 bird species so if you open your eyes when you take a stroll on the streets you’ll discover small patches of wildlife. Admire, enjoy and don’t forget to capture the moments!

The world is yours when you can see its beauty!

On the Caro domain we are lucky enough to adore nature every day - and now you got the chance of exploring it without effort! We are near the emerging delta of the natural Lake Tei, measuring 80 hectares within the city of Bucharest. Starting this spring we carefully feed the birds with the intention to preserve the biodiversity of the flora and fauna as such.

"Man is born for happiness, as a bird is born to fly" (Vladimir Korolenko)

And since we love helping bird species to nest or survive on the lake, we invite you to find your harmony in our urban-birding tour! It’ all about a spectacular, new and wild experience where you least expect it - in front of your hotel room window, in the middle of the city.

  3. The largest European grey heron stands up to 100 cm tall and measure 84–102 cm long while the body weight can range up to 1.5 kilo.

Birding away in Bucharest

Learn about life straight from Mother Nature

The secret of super happy couples is swimming together!
It can be during your lunch break by the lake when a young couple of ducks is swimming. She will be ahead, while he will always follow her. Their moves are swift, wandering and noisy. You will be surprised to mistake the duck's quack with its echo but  the meeting with the cute baby ducks and their mother will give you your greatest urban birding moment.

It is not the strongest of the species that survives but the most adaptable!
If you have no ideea how a flock of bald coots in the urban delta looks like, take your time to observe them! They are part of the Caro landscape, where they stay until fall ends. They are aggressively territorial during the breeding season, but are otherwise often found on our shallow vegetated lake they prefer. You’d be lucky to shoot the little coots when running vigorously.

Express love in your life each day!
Majestic and beautiful, swans are well-known for being graceful and quite peaceful to look at. Believe it or not, swans' love for their partners is so deep they often mate for life. This is why, swans form the classic image of devotion, with their curved necks entwined in a perfect love heart.

Time goes by so slowly for those who wait!
Imagine yourself surrounded by energetic vibes, pleasuring in the light breeze, while the sun sinking and the wild birds savour the warmth of summertime. Slow down, relax and enjoy little moments of close encounters of the bird kind in a frantic world.
